Metropolitan Propaganda

The Met's new set of posters & leaflets coming out this month have suprised a few people, has it really reached this point that such blatant shameful propaganda is going mainstream?

Implying that people should make an effort to watch out for suspicous behaviour these posters seem to be targeting bigots and window twitches, who previously wouldn't have thought anything of it or maybe only gossiped about it to take a step and report other peoples behaviour to a government institution.

All it takes is for a majority to become complacant with this behaviour for it to be stepped up a notch, inevitably polarizing those who are "with the government" and those who are not...

To put this into perspective, change terrorist to communist for a soviet-era feel; regardless that this is targeting terrorists, the chilling effect is that it plays on peoples existing perceptions of who the target group is - this has been portrayed widely by sensationalist media corps, the dubious wars in the middle east and the imprisonment of innocent citicizens in Americas widely known for it's use of torture - aparently targeting Muslims.

I was honestly shocked that the Met are going along with this, but you can never attribute malice to incompetance.

For example the large increase in funding to counter-terrorist departments in the past 6-7 years has to be put to good use, at every stage up the chain of command results will be demanded - at the very least something to show for the money.

If that leads us to where we are today, I would hate to think what is to come in future.
